 الحمد لله حمداً كثيراً طيباً مباركاً فيه، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله، أما بعد:

In the Name of Allāh, the Merciful, the All-Merciful. All praise is due to Allāh, a praise that is plentiful, pure, and blessed. I bear witness that there is no god except Allāh alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His slave and Messenger.
To proceed:

فإن الاهتمام بـ:

• تعليم الصغار.

• وتفقيههم في دين الله.

مطلبٌ عظيمٌ؛ حثّ عليه كتاب ربنا، وسنة نبينا محمد ﷺ.

Focusing on:
    • Teaching the young.
    • Granting them understanding of the religion of Allāh.
This is a great objective encouraged by the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah of our Prophet Muḥammad ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam.

فقد صح عند الترمذي عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما أن النبي ﷺ قال له: « يا غلام إني أعلمك كلمات ...... » الحديث.

It was authentically reported by at-Tirmithi, on the authority of Ibn ʿAbbās (may Allāh be pleased with them), that the Prophet, ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam, said to him: "O young man, I shall teach you some words..." (the ḥadīth).

وصح عن عبد الله بن عمرو رضي الله عنهما أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: «علموا صبيانكم الصلاة في سبع سنين ...... » الحديث. 

And it was authentically reported from ʿAbdullāh bnu ʿAmr (may Allāh be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "Teach your children prayer at seven years..." (the ḥadīth).

وإن التعليم على طريقة السؤال والجواب لهي:

• طريقةٌ نبويةٌ مفيدةٌ، 

Teaching through the question-and-answer method is:
    • A beneficial Prophetic method.

وقد قال النبي ﷺ لمعاذ رضي الله عنه: «أتدري ما حق الله على العباد؟ وما حق العباد على الله؟» 

The Prophet, ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam, said to Muʿāth (may Allāh be pleased with him): "Do you know what is the right of Allāh over His slaves? And what is the right of the slaves over Allāh?"

وقال ﷺ في حديث آخر: «إن من الشجر شجرة مثلها مثل المسلم لا يسقط ورقها أخبروني ما هي».

In another Hadith, he, ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam, said: "Indeed, among the trees there is a tree whose likeness is that of a Muslim; its leaves do not fall. Tell me, which one is it?"

وهذه الطريقة:

• أقرب إلى الفهم والتفهيم.

• وأوضح في التعلم والتعليم.

This method:
    • Is closer to [achieving] understanding and comprehension.
    • Is clearer for learning and teaching.

ومن هنا؛ فهذه مجموعة أسئلة يزيد عددها على الألف سؤال، كتبتها بطريقة مختصرة: 

Hence, this is a collection of questions numbering more than a thousand, which I have written in a concise manner.

احتوت على أهم المهمات من أمور الدين، وأصول الإيمان، ومبادئ الفقه، والآداب، والمعاملات، والسيرة، وغيرها. تدعوا الحاجة والضرورة إلى معرفتها. 

It contains the most important matters of religion: the foundations of faith (īmān), principles of jurisprudence (Fiqh), etiquette (Adab), transactions (Muʿāmalāt), biography (Sīrah), and others—matters for which there is a pressing need and necessity to know.

خصصتها للصغار ولا يستغني عنها الكبار.

I have designated it for the young, though adults cannot do without it either.

وقد تحريت جهدي أن تكون جميع الأسئلة مبنيةً على أدلة صحيحة من الكتاب والسنة. 

I have strived to ensure all questions are based on authentic evidence from the Book and the Sunnah.

لكني لم أذكر الأدلة:

However, I did not mention the evidence [here]:

أولاً: لطلب الاختصار. ثانياً: لأن هذا سيكون -إن شاء الله- في كتاب آخر؛ يكون بمثابة الشرح والتوسع في هذه الأسئلة. ثالثاً: يكون هذا القدر من الجواب هو المطلوب من الصغير أن يحفظه، ويقوم المدرس بشرح الجواب، وذكر الدليل على ذلك.

    1.  For the sake of brevity.
    2.  Because this will be—if Allāh wills—in another book that will serve as an explanation and expansion of these questions.
    3.  So that this amount of the answer is what the child is required to memorize, while the teacher explains the answer and mentions the evidence for it.

 

نسأل الله أن ينفع بها أبناء المسلمين، وأن يجعلها من خير ما يدخر لنا عند رب العالمين. ونسأل الله أن يجزي خيراً من قام بمراجعتها، أو أعان على طبعها، والله الموفق والهادي إلى سواء السبيل.

We ask Allāh to benefit the children of the Muslims with it, to make it a source of goodness stored for us with the Lord of the Worlds, and we ask Allāh to reward whoever reviews it, helps in its printing, or assists in its distribution. Allāh is the Giver of Success, the Guide to the Straight Path.
