️A glimpse of the reverence for the Sunnah and care for it in the life of ash-shaykh al-Albānī (may Allāh have mercy on him).

عن أم المؤمنين عائشة رَضِيَ اللهُ عنها قَالَت:

On the authority of the Mother of the Believers ʿĀʾishah (may Allāh be pleased with her), she said:

جاءت عجوزٌ إلى النبيِّ صلَّى اللهُ عليهِ وسلَّمَ وهو عندي

An elderly woman came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was with me.

فقال لها رسولُ اللهِ صلَّى اللهُ عليهِ وسلَّمَ : من أنتِ ؟

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her: “Who are you?”

قالت : أنا جثَّامةُ المُزنيَّةُ

She said: “I am Jaththāmah al-Muzaniyyah”.

فقال : 《 بل أنتِ حسَّانةُ المُزنيَّةُ》.

He said: “Rather, you are Ḥassānah al-Muzaniyyah”.

As-Silsilah aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥah (1/424)

قال الإمام محمد ناصر الدين الألباني رحمه الله تبارك و تعالى

Al-imām Muḥammad Nāṣir ad-Dīn al-Albānī (may Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, have mercy on him)

‏بعد تخريجه لهذا الحديث :

said after conducting takhrīj (tracing/sourcing/authentication) of this ḥadīth:

"هذا ولقد كان الباعث على تحرير القول في هذا الحديث خاصة أن الله تبارك وتعالى رزقني بعد ظهر الثلاثاء في عشرين ربيع الآخر سنة ١٣٨٥هـ طفلة جميلة، فلما عزمت على أن أختار لها اسماً من أسماء الصحابيات الكريمات

“The reason that prompted me to carefully examine this ḥadīth in particular is that Allāh, Blessed and Exalted, had granted me—on Tuesday afternoon, the 20th of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir, 1385 AH—a beautiful baby girl. When I intended to choose for her a name from among the names of the noble female Companions,

فوقع بصري على هذا الاسم حسّانة فمال إليه قلبي؛ لتحقيق الاقتداء به صلى الله عليه وسلم في تسميته جثامة به،

my eyes fell upon the name Ḥassānah, and my heart inclined toward it, in order to follow the example of the Prophet (ﷺ) who renamed Jaththāmah with it.

ولكن لم أبادر إلى ذلك حتى درست إسناد الحديث وتحققت من صحته ".

However, I did not proceed until I studied the chain of narration of the ḥadīth and confirmed its authenticity”.

Jaththāmah: A dull-witted person, far from noble virtues.
Ḥassānah: from the Arabic root ح-س-ن; which is "excellence".

🌱 Understanding the Nature of Children

When you understand the nature of children, many things that would normally cause frustration become easier to bear with patience and wisdom. A young child — from birth to usually around four years old — naturally sees the world as revolving around them, everything belongs to them in their head. Not Every Interruption Is An Interruption

So there she sits with her book…finally, after a long day, she finally finds a quiet moment. A page opens, her mind slowly settles, and ideas begin connecting. But then: "Ummi…" A scribb…sorry, a piece of art …needs admiration. A button that needs "fixing". A story that goes nowhere needs an ear, right now!
